6 simple ways that you can help to minimise hair loss

If you’re on the lookout for a hair loss treatment, addressing the issue with medical treatment is your most effective and immediate option. However, there are a number of things you can do to help decrease the rate at which you’re losing your hair.

Here are some of the most effective natural remedies that could work for you:

1. Oil massages

By heating some oil – coconut and jojoba are both good options – and massaging it into your scalp using your fingertips, you can help increase blood flow to the hair follicles. This, in turn, means that your roots will become stronger, promoting a healthy scalp and decreased shedding.

2. Green tea

You can never have too much green tea. It does a number of things that are good for preventing hair loss, including improving blood circulation in the scalp, reducing inflammation and reviving the hair follicles. You can even condition your hair using a green tea solution. Mix a spoonful of coconut oil with powdered matcha green tea and leave in while you shower twice a week. Rinse out after about twenty minutes to stimulate hair growth.

3. Meditate

Stress is one of the biggest causes of hair loss around. Meditation can be a great way of helping to deal with stress, and by working just half an hour into your routine, you can improve your overall mental and physical wellbeing. The benefits of meditation are numerous and aren’t limited to just hair. There are also mindfulness apps out there to guide you through if you're new to the whole thing.

4. Vitamin C

Vitamin C deficiency is one that’s often linked to dry and splitting hair which leads to hair loss, so it helps to try and get your daily allowance. Ideally, you don’t want to rely on supplements - just try and find a fruit or vegetable you enjoy. Peppers, kale, broccoli, papaya, strawberries and pineapple all have healthy amounts of Vitamin C.

5. Aloe vera

Aloe vera juice or gel, applied to the scalp, can be another effective way of improving your hair loss. It contains enzymes that help to promote a healthy scalp environment, and also has a chemical composition similar to that of keratin- the primary protein of hair that helps to nourish and rejuvenate the hair.
